From an early age I have always been interested in the human body and have actively pursued this interest, both in my own sporting activities and my education.   At University I studied Sport and Exercise Science, graduating with a first class BSc (Hons).  I then went on to complete a PGCE and qualified as a Physical Education teacher, so I could share my passion and its many benefits with other young people.

My massage journey began after I fell whilst running and injured my back.  After this injury, my back never returned to its full mobility and I was left with chronic pain.  Like many chronic pain sufferers, I was fearful of the pain and my movement became restricted, preventing me from returning to many of the activities which I had previously enjoyed. During this time, massage became an invaluable tool, helping me both physically and psychologically with the pain and helping me move more freely.  I decided to find out more and enrolled on a Holistic Massage training course to qualify as a massage therapist myself.  After then having a break from my career to become a mother, this was the perfect time to embark on a new challenge and set up my massage therapy business.

In my quest to help others, I have continued to train in a variety of new massage techniques including Deep tissue massage, Sports massagePregnancy massage, Hot Stone Massage Fusion and Myofascial Release.  This has allowed me, in my business, to provide tailor-made treatments for each individual’s needs, whether it be recovery from injury, chronic pain or general tension.   I am  currently studying the JING Method™ and aim to qualify as an Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist (ACMT) in September 2024.

In terms of my own recovery, a real game changer for my chronic pain was learning about pain science, which enabled me to understand my experience of pain.  This understanding has enabled me to regain mobility and strength in my back and has allowed me to move more freely once again without fear.  I now enjoy running, swimming, and yoga as part of my wellness routine.   A huge part of my recovery was from my new understanding of the power of correct breathing and the positive impact it can have on our body and minds.  I have come to realise that there is nothing more essential to our health and wellbeing than breathing correctly.

I feel very lucky to have a job that I love.   Massage has really helped me and it's an amazing feeling to aid other people in improving their quality of life, both physically and mentally with massage therapy, so they can move better and live more.
